Catrin Williams: Pethe ar daith

Cantref (Canolfan y Plase), Y Bala, Gwener, Gorffennaf 15 - Sadwrn Awst 6

Abstract and colourful works by the artist from Cefnddwysarn, near Y Bala, who now lives in Pwllheli - this is her first exhibition in her home town for a number of years. The work was created over the past three years, based on her visits to the Outer Hebridies, Bardsey Island and on times spent near Bala. She has paintings and stitchwork pieces of Welsh teas and cakes, a craft which her mother has now passed on to her daughter, Luned. "I draw the cakes before we eat them," said the artist.

Darluniau haniaethol, lliwgar gan yr artist o Gefnddwysarn ger y Bala, sydd bellach yn byw ym Mhwllheli - dyma'r tro cyntaf iddi arddangos ei gwaith yn ei thref enedigol ers blynyddoedd lawer. Gwaith sydd wedi'i greu dros y tair blynedd ddiwethaf, yn seiliedig ar ei hymweliadau ag Ynys Uist yn yr Alban, ynys Enlli a chyfnodau adref yn y Bala. Mae ganddi luniau o'r Te cymreig a chacennau, crefft y mae ei mam a hi wedi'i throsglwyddo i'w merch, Luned. "Dwi'n eu braslunio nhw cyn i ni eu bwyta nhw," meddai'r arlunydd.
